What You Will Be Doing
The Clinical Informaticist (System Analyst/Application Coordinator) designs and implements system solutions to improve health care services and the health of the patient. They provide expertise and support to highly visible, sensitive, and multi-faceted clinical projects and are responsible for the successful turnover of projects to production. The Clinical Informaticist works closely with the medical staff to incorporate workflows into system design and keeps current on new system functionality that will improve system acceptance and usage and strengthen the clinician-patient relationship. The position is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and support duties of clinical systems within the Clinical Information Systems department.
What You Need for this Position
-Certification in EPIC CPOE
-Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of experience OR 5 years of clinical system development, support and maintenance experience in lieu of Bachelor's Degree
-Knowledge in fundamentals of hospital organization, management techniques, JCAHO, HIPAA and Title 22 requirements; Understanding of health care patient administration, clinical and business systems
-Strong computer skills and experience with clinical information systems development and/or implementation; Demonstrated ability to develop and write policies and procedures and to interpret complex regulatory requirements
-Effective verbal and written communication, ability to prepare concise, detailed reports and oral presentations to a broad spectrum of individuals and groups including senior management, physicians and health care professionals
-Demonstrated level of integrity and trust, capable of maintaining confidential information; Demonstrated customer service focus, ability to self-motivate and self-direct, balance competing priorities and critical thinking, analysis and problem solving skills
-Demonstrated ability to perform in a team environment, utilize effective team relationship skills and interact at all levels of the organization
- Five years of experience in ambulatory support, implementation and knowledge
-Implementation and upgrade experience with previous integrated health care information systems with emphasis on Clinical EMR applications/systems (EPIC, Meditech, Cerner, etc.); Experience in SLDC, ITSM and ITIL process methodologies
-Understand fundamentals of project management methodologies with demonstrated ability to act as a lead for an implementation team or small project
